About the Designer
The Free People story begins in the 1970s, when founder Dick Hayne opened the brand’s first brick-and-mortar store in West Philadelphia. Over time, the eclectic label evolved into Urban Outfitters, but later, in 1984, Free People was relaunched as its own entity. Designed with a romantic, adventurous aesthetic, Free People caters to a contemporary bohemian lifestyle, highlighting creative spirit and effortless confidence with a unique do-it-yourself sensibility.

Very nice for the price ...
I wore this skirt about 3 times in 5 days. It is cheap and it looks inexpensive, but it is very practical. I love the light thread on the pockets. I am plus size (about a size 14 at GAP in skirts) so the elastic waist is much appreciated. Free People usually doesn't let me down. I kept this one but recently sent back a RED Valentino; so price is not always a determining factor. More expensive didn't work out for me in this case. I worry that after a few wears this Free People skirt won't last. Fingers crossed.

Very practical...
Very practical... Received it last Friday and I have worn it 3 times since then (within 5 days).
May be a little see-through when up against the sun light.
I ordered it in black and size LARGE.
I am plus size (about a 14 to 16 at GAP in skirts with zippers, depending on make) and the LARGE fits me great.
Just love the pockets and how they have the lighter grey thread as an outline of the pockets.
Warning: may make women with hips and butts appear larger than they want. I don't have hips or a rear end, so I wish I had that "problem."

SIZE
I ordered size large and I am a plus size gal with small hips and no back end. (My stomach is the problem; too often asked, "when are you due?" I am not. So embarrassing.) I share this to give an idea of the stretch potential. I am a 14 at GAP on the bottom (but sometimes a 16 at GAP with smaller makes and zippers).
MATERIAL
The material is very nice. But I stood in front of the patio door and the sunshine gives a little too much of a peek. So, my daughter says, "you will need tights under that." (I plan to wear this skirt in the fall and winter with HUE tights and ballet flats or boots.)
Also, the material seems A LITTLE itchy with bare legs.
SMALL HIPS
As mentioned above, I have no hips and no rear end. This skirt gives me both (or the appearance of both).
PRICE
I had to pay customs on top of the $61.23 Canadian price. But it is worth it. Nice black skirt - not plain since it is skater style.
Free People usually gets it right.
