In 1896, tailor and former US Navy sailor Tony Anzalone began revising the fit of regulation Navy uniforms in his Brooklyn shop. Anzalone's altered designs improved the function of the pieces, and he soon became a primary uniform supplier to the Navy. Although originally constructed for utilitarian purposes, the androgynous Navy style was adopted by the fashion elite, quickly becoming the symbol for effortless chic. In spring 2013, Seafarer relaunched the iconic flared silhouette with modern fabrics and a subtly updated profile, offering a seductive, feminine fit while staying true to the heritage aesthetics of the brand.
