Mars Attacks
I purchased these booties to serve as a chic transitional shoe. The construction appears solid and I expected them to be instantly wearable, with a walking commute in mind.
Uh, not really. While they're cute and well made, they are also truly true to size. My real foot size is a 5.5, but most of the time, 5.5 is not offered, so I go with 6, without any issue. I went with 6 on these shoes and my foot slipped around, not enough that the shoe would go flying when I do a high kick, but you get the idea. So, I made sure to wear socks. Then I walked about 10 blocks--5 from my apt to subway, then 5 more from subway to work--looking so cute. Except, by the time I arrived at work, I was beginning to hobble. The balls of my feet burned. I knew there was damage. I had to change into flats for the rest of the day.
So suffice it to say, these will require breaking in. If 5.5 had been available, I would've gotten them; I thought 6 would work, and it still might, but you've been warned.

Perfect little ankle boot!
I bought these to replace my slightly oversized Acne Pistols - the Mars sits lower on the ankle and therefore looks better, IMO. The heel is 3", but incredibly comfortable. I would replace the heel cap though, the one that's on is made of plastic and is really slippery! The half sole is also on the weaker side. I am usually a size 36 or US 6, but in certain French brands I have to size up to 36.5 because of my wide feet. I ordered the Mars in 6 and 6.5 because I heard they run narrow, but the 6 turned out to be perfect in lenght. They don't feel too narrow in the front. The heel slips a little, but I don't think I could have gone down another size.. Nothing a heel grip wouldn't fix!
