About the Designer
Fashion veteran Diane von Furstenberg arrived fresh on the NYC fashion scene in 1970, armed with a friendship with Vogue editor Diana Vreeland and 12 shirtdresses she'd made in Italy. By 1976, von Furstenberg had already gained renown in the fashion sphere with the invention of her iconic wrap dress. With vintage-inspired prints and feminine silhouettes, every DVF design is built to flatter the woman who wears it: a philosophy that has become von Furstenberg's legacy and her gift to the women of the world.

Nothing special
I wanted to really love this dress but it's fairly unremarkable in person. The other version on the DVF site with the hip pockets is a bit more "high fashion" but this just looks like the regular Julian Two dress with leather patches.
Now, the leather patches on the sleeve - they just look a bit bizarre, like wings on 80s high top sneakers. And they were poorly sewed on.
The crepe that the dress is made out of is nowhere near as luxe as the regular silk jersey that DVF is renowned for. it's just heavy and a bit rough to the touch.
It's going back.
