Frye
Engineer Boots

    About the Designer

The oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States, stepping into a pair of Frye boots is like stepping into history. The company was founded in 1863 and run for 50 years by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England. Frye boots have traveled with soldiers from America's Civil War through World War II, and in the 1960s the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, was reintroduced and soon rose to high demand. Today, Frye's boots still hold a place in American culture. See all Frye reviews

    Great Looking Boot
This is a really great boot that goes with everything in my wardrobe. It's also really durable. The only think you need to worry about is that the inside of the boots will rub off on any light-coloured socks or jeans you tuck inside.

    Stylish Boot
I love the apperance of the boot so much can mix & match with different clothes... It's definitly a true to size but found it's a bit tight on my left arche. If i wear it whole day, my left foot will get numb easily but the sole is definitly comfort. I usually wear in btw size 6 or 7 & i hv bought size 6.5 and it's fit perfect!!! My feet even looks smaller after I wear on it. By the way, this is the 1st time i shop at shopbop!!! I feel more than 100% satisfied on the whole arrangement

These boots have become a classic!!!
What can i say...have now owned these babies for a year and still like them just as much as i did when they arrived. The quality is top notch and have stood up to a Canadian winter!

    Good boots
Great style. Makes my legs look longer and straighter. however, the weight of these boots are a bit heavy (good quality though) and needs to wear socks otherwise will hurt. I normally wear US 6,but got 5.5. They fit quite well. I can still wear socks with these boots and they are not too tight.

    Best Investment I've Ever Made
I love these boots, they are the most flattering, comfortable, all around AMAZING shoes I've ever purchased. They can definitely withstand cold weather conditions and are easily wiped clean. I LOVE THEM. Eventually I'll probably be purchasing the brown engineer boots, but for now I'm sticking with my beloved black.

Not So Good For High Arches
These are not only difficult for me to get on with my high arches, they eventually make my feet go numb but they look so good on. I wear them mostly for short appearances until they (hopefully) loosen up.

Tough leather, bit tight on top of foot
The sizing of the shoes was as I expected (i am normally a 36/37 euro and 6 and 1/2 fits perfectly), but a little tight across the top of my foot. I talked to the people at Frye and they said that the black engineer leather is a bit tougher than some of their other leathers. I ended up taking them to a cobbler/shoe repair shop and had them stretched, so they fit fine now. I did have a bit of trouble getting them on at first, but I found that putting my foot in a small plastic bag made them slide in easily. The leather is a really good quality, and because it is sou tough is really durable. Fantastic buy!
