About the Designer
After discovering a passion for design while working in the costume department during high school, Rebecca Minkoff moved to New York at 18 to pursue her dream of becoming a designer. Minkoff reworked the iconic ‘I Love New York’ tee as part of a 2001 capsule collection, and the piece set her career in motion. She launched her namesake label that same year and released her first handbag silhouette, the ‘Morning After Bag’ (MAB), in 2005. Rebecca Minkoff returned to her design roots in 2009, adding apparel to the lifestyle label, and in 2010, expanded the brand to include Rebecca Minkoff footwear.

So hard to pull on, but here's a trick..
I was SO excited to get these boots, and then devastated when I was completely unable to pull them onto my feet. I have average width feet, sometimes 7 1/2 fits perfectly, sometimes 8. I had tried on other Rebecca Minkoff boots, and her 8s fit me perfectly. Well... these boots must have a very narrow opening at the ankle. My foot just wouldn't slide in no matter how hard I tugged! If only they had a zipper or something. I went to my local shoe repair store and learned a great trick for this situation. Stick your foot into a plastic grocery bag, the slipperiness will allow it to slide easily into the shoe! Then you just sort of yank at the bag til it tears and pulls out. I'm hoping over time the boots will stretch, so I won't have to do this forever. But it's pretty easy and it totally works! These boots look amazing and they're very comfortable once they're on. Definitely worth the trouble!

Hard to Get On But SOOO CUTE!
These are very tough to pull on.. but once on.. you will LOVE them. Hopefully they'll get easier with time... and figuring out which socks will and won't work with them. Wore them with denim shorts and a black blazer the other day - FAB... will wear with short dresses... and of course skinnies come winter. Perfect heel. A bit long but they don't come in a 4.5 so keeping them! They are the "go to" boot time and time again if you are patient with the pull on situation!

Hard to get on
The boots were true to size in the sense that the length of the boot fit my foot when the boot was on. The problem was getting the boot on in the first place. I have a very thin foot. I am a size 8 Australian so I actually went up to an 8.5 to allow for the slightly smaller sizing that can occur with US sizing. Still I struggled to get the boots on initially. The size of the shaft opening in conjunction with the design of the boot made it very difficult to get my foot into the boot. A zipper opening would have been great. I can see myself not wearing these often due to the struggle to get them on. Also, avoid if you have wide feet. Once on, the boot is quite snug on my thin foot. They also made my feet appear a lot longer than they are. On the plus side, the suede is the perfect amount of 'distressed' and the colour is a beautiful rich dark burgundy.
