Designer James Perse found his calling in fashion when he designed the perfect baseball cap and sold it in his father's LA boutique. When movie directors wanted the caps for their cast and crew and record labels wanted them for tours, he decided to launch the James Perse collection. fits like a glove!
love this dress! great casual look and simply throw a cardi or blazer over it to take it up a notch. my only complaint would be that you have to pull it up if you want to take normal walking strides. however that complaint is not enough to prevent me from wearing this dress.

This dress is so cute but the material was too see-through for me to keep it. Also, the bottom of the dress was pretty tight, so while trying it on & walking to my mirror, I realized that baby steps was going to be the only way to walk while wearing this dress. It had to go back.

Cute but strange bottom
I am 5'1 and 120 and this dress fit me great. The one problem is that the bottom hem is super tight. I found that every time I wear it I am pulling it up so I can walk. Other than the hem the dress fits really well and is super flattering.

Very flattering.
The stripes are well placed and very flattering. I'm 5'4" 114 lbs and normally wear size 1 in James Perse, and size 1 fits perfectly. The fabric is very light and thin but not see-thru, so I can wear it without a bra and seamless undies. The hem is very narrow, making it difficult to walk in as other reviews said.

cute but hard to walk in
love this dress, so easy to wear during the summer.... but walking in it is a challenge. have to hike the skirt up to take steps bigger than penguin steps. other than that, love it.

I did like this dress but the stripes did not suit me at all. I think they just lined up oddly and sort of highlighted my hips. I think someone taller then 5'6" would be perfect in this. Otherwise, the shape is great. This was a return for me.

Good basic dress
A very nice comfortable dress that suits both dressed down to the beach or to a dinner. Colors are as seen in the picture and I don't think it is too sheer or see through. Only thing that holds back the rating is that the size still felt small even though I sized up one size. Usually a size 2 but chose a size 3 and had hoped that it would be a bit more loose. Although it is probably as tight as seen on the model...

Great Dress
I ordered this dress in a 1 and I love it. The stripes are great and it's a great length. It's a little snug at the bottom but nothing some hemming won't fix. All in all, a great purchase!

Comfortable dress and very flattering
The dress hugs my curve really well. The only thing is that the material is a little bit thin but I guess it's good for the hot weather. The bottom is a little narrow to take big steps but at least the shape looks very nice. Very soft material.
One more thing, I ordered a size 2 by guess. The size chart did not have a good indication as to what size 2 was.

Very Flattering
This dress fits very well. I am usually a 1 in James Perse dresses (5'2, 105 lbs), and in the 1 it is a perfect, body-con kind of fit. The black stripe across the middle creates a nice waist. I was a little unsure about the slight flare at the bottom of the dress, but I didn't bother me when I had it on, makes it easier to walk in and figure I can always hem it slightly and reattach the hem.
