Designer

While on a year-long globetrotting adventure, designer Samantha August noticed a strong respect of the ocean in the people she met. When she returned to NYC, she focused on how to make the ocean a part of her life. The result is Basta Surf swimwear, a chic line inspired by her love of surfing and travel. And Samantha's designs are beautiful in more ways than one: a portion of all sales will be given to Global Water, a charity committed to creating safe water supplies in developing countries.

Tight AND Loose
I was super excited about this purchase until I tried them on. I usually wear a size 25, and the size S was incredibly snug on me, squishing my hips in an unattractive way. The leg holes were much larger than pictured, but that could be cause I'm just 5"2 105 lbs. Also the fabric is super thin and doesn't have that great silky feel. Lastly, the inseam is like an inch only and made the crotch area look really weird on me.

Summer love
I absolutely cannot wait for it to get warm out to rock these shorts! They are beautiful, super comfortable and well made. They look great for heading to the beach with a white t shirt and flip flops but could also look amazing dressed up -- black tank tucked in and wedge heels look fab! These are sort of pricey BUT they are so unique, I think that makes it worth it... People will definitely stop and take notice when you wear these.
