Designer

The Wayuu Taya Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2002 by Venezuelan model Patricia Velasquez. Wayuu Taya (meaning "I am indigenous") assists the Wayuu, an indigenous group of over 450,000 people, located in the Guajira Peninsula of northern Colombia and Venezuela. Each one-of-a-kind bag by Wayuu Taya is hand-woven by the artisans of this region, and proceeds from the sale of each bag help improve the lives of those in the community while maintaining their traditions, cultures, and beliefs.
