The leather seems a good quality, even though isn't very durable, I don't think. It's larger than expected, I can easily put my 15'' Mac in it, which is nice:)

I bought this backpack ahead of an international trip and love it! It holds the essentials without ever getting bulky and serves as a great carry-on for long plane rides. Best of all, the drawstring is made out of a tough leather, which means that once it's cinched closed, it's all but impossible for someone to snag something out of the interior without the wearer noticing. I was nervous about a backpack being too easy to break into but am pleasantly surprised by the design of this one. Plus, it's great quality leather, looks exactly as pictured (I didn't have a problem with the strap length and I'm short) and just gets better with age. Buy it.

The leather is very good quality, and will last a long time as well as withstand much use and abuse. Pocket placement is good, both on the inside and outside of the bag. Drawstring opening on top is easy to maneuver and gets easier over time. However,the straps are NOT versatile. Based on the photo the model is pulling the straps forward herself on the front side, otherwise the bag sits lower. The base actually sits on my back hip bones and I am 5'8". I have the straps adjusted as short as they will go. They are only adjustable at the bottom with 4 holes and about 2 more inches of leather for you to have extra holes punched if necessary. No way to actually shorten the canvas straps themselves, which is disappointing. I almost sent it back due to this because if you put a decent amount of weight into it (magazines and IPad to travel) it will not be comfortable on your back. BUT, I'm keeping it due to overall design and quality at a good price.

i think this is a good alternative to a regular purse. the leather is high quality and the many straps are all very adjustable. i think it will work out well with my bike riding so im not off balance. i just dont know yet how it will hold up to the harsh nyc weather....
