Founded by the unconventional Martin Margiela, Maison Martin Margiela is a pioneering label in deconstructionist design. Working in completely white studios, where even the light fixtures were draped in white fabric, Margiela revolted against conventional fashion with over-long sleeves and exposed seams and linings and famously redesigned unusual objects like wigs and silk scarves into couture garments. Though currently led by a new design team, Maison Martin Margiela stays true to its avant-garde roots.

Not so great
I had high expectations when I ordered these shoes but was very disappointed to find out how uncomfortable they are. The leather is not soft at all and hurts my feet. I'm returning them.

unique wedge
I love how this wedge looks like a heeled pump from a far. So unique and very comfortable. I only gave it 4 stars because after one wear the leather by the heel of the left shoe already started to pull away. It needs to be re-glued. I'd expect better quality at this price point. However, for me, the unique design and wearability outweighs this flaw.
