Description

An elegant, compact messenger bag by Maison Martin Margiela, rendered in wrinkled leather. A snap pocket opens at the back, and a mirrored brass plate details the front flap, which opens to reveal a small mirror tucked inside a patch pocket. The shoulder strap is adjustable, and the main compartment unzips to a lined interior with a zip pocket.

Leather: Calfskin.

Designer

Founded by the unconventional Martin Margiela, Maison Martin Margiela is a pioneering label in deconstructionist design. Working in completely white studios, where even the light fixtures were draped in white fabric, Margiela revolted against conventional fashion with over-long sleeves and exposed seams and linings and famously redesigned unusual objects like wigs and silk scarves into couture garments. Though currently led by a new design team, Maison Martin Margiela stays true to its avant-garde roots.
