Designer

The oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States, stepping into a pair of Frye boots is like stepping into history. The company was founded in 1863 and run for 50 years by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England. Frye boots have traveled with soldiers from America's Civil War through World War II, and in the 1960s the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, was reintroduced and soon rose to high demand. Today, Frye's boots still hold a place in American culture.

Very Comfy
Great boots. Made for all day wear. Good to dress up and down. Good fit. I can see years and years of wear out of these

Versatile Brown Boot
This Gaucho Tan is a perfect dark brown, and looks great with jeans. Extremely versatile these also look great with mini skirts, knee length skirts and short shorts. There are black tones in the boots, so you can easily pair the boots with black if you wanted. When I first wore them they were tight where the buckle goes over the foot, however after a few wears they loosened up and became very comfortable. The quality is amazing, and durable. The height of the shaft in combination with the heel is flattering (I'm 5'7" and these hit my calves at the right spot).

I die for them!
Amazing boots! I was worried that they would be to "clunky" but they aren't at all! I can't wait to break them in and scuff them up a bit! The only negative thing about them is that they make me want another pair of Frye boots! A Great purchase!

Everyday casual boots
I love these boots. I wore them at the mall for the first time for 8-10 hrs. My feet and legs did not feel any aches. I wear them everyday.

Great Boots
The leather on these is thick and stiff, which I love. I knocked off one star because they aren't the absolute most comfortable boots I own, but they're definitely comfortable nonetheless. For some reason I find it harder to walk around in these boots for more than a few hours, probably due to the weight of them.

Good, solid boots
I have six pairs of Frye boots, and love all of them. I've owned this pair for years, and can say that they're exceptionally well-made - these Engineer boots have been worn so much they've been re-soled twice, and the Gaucho leather only gets better with age. They are heavy, as others have stated, but any solid work boots are going to be heavy. I took off one star because these boots aren't quite as comfortable as the shorter version of these boots, which I also own. I find myself reaching for those more often because they come up to a more comfortable place on my calves (I'm 5'6" and don't have very long legs). Others who are short-ish might want to consider the 8Rs.

Rugged and Awesome
I've had these boots a couple years now and they look just as good as when I first purchased them. They look good with so many things and aren't easy to wear out (which is a problem I have with shoes). Size-wise, they are true to size although sometimes it's hard to get one of my feet in the boot since there aren't zippers (but once it's in the shoe fits perfectly).

I'm really surprised to see so many people felt the boots ran small! I have wide feet so when I see reviews saying to size up, they're usually spot-on. I ordered my true size (6) and these fit just fine. Very durable, sturdy and fairly comfortable. This purchase was definitely far beyond my style, but I took the plunge anyway. I'm sure I will love them once winter arrives!
