Born in Italy, Gabriella Cortese learned embroidery and dressmaking from her grandmother before moving to Paris to study art at age 18. This necklace has a lot going for it beyond being stylish , modern and different. It has a substantial look to it, without the weight of a larger piece. I like the mixed metals, textures and colors. It has a nice fluidity, as the silver circles move around a bit. Stylish, not stagnant.
