Jobless and fresh out of a year-long stint at Allure magazine, Eugenia Kim, having recently shaved her head because of a bad haircut, was shopping in Soho wearing a red guinea-feathered cloche she had made. Several store owners immediately took notice, and by the end of the day Eugenia had appointments with two stores to see her collection. The Eugenia Kim brand was born, and quite by accident. Each hat is a work of art, drawing inspiration from the simple and the extravagant and always demanding attention.
