Rag & Bone
Old boarding school buddies Nathan Bogle and Marcus Wainwright had design experience when they decided to create the perfect pair of jeans in 2001, a pursuit that took them to Kentucky for a crash course in denim manufacturing. Eighteen months and one perfect formula later, the pair premiered Rag & Bone with a small run of lovingly made blues. Demand was so great for Rag & Bone jeans that by 2004 they had a full menswear line, followed by a counterpart for the ladies and a basics-centric spinoff named Rag & Bone/JEAN. The collections are centered around a gritty, New York sensibility, with signature pieces — Rag & Bone Harrow booties, blazers, dresses, and fedoras — marrying workwear fabrics and dark color schemes with classic silhouettes and sharp tailoring.
