Despite the dozen of bikinis swimwear designer and fit model Amahlia Stevens used to encounter on a daily basis, she always found herself unimpressed by the available options. That all changed, however, with Vitamin A, the swimwear label she launched in 2000 with a versatile two-piece called the California Cut. Heralded as the bathing suit equivalent of an LBD—timeless and universally flattering—the style paved the way for her company’s rapid expansion, taking Vitamin A swimwear from an under-the-radar indie line to a wildly popular collection of classic beachwear staples.
