    About the Designer

    The brainchild of Michigan native Ali Rose VanOverbeke, eyewear label Genusee was launched in 2018 in response to the Flint water crisis. The brand’s mission is twofold: reduce plastic waste—each purchase of a Genusee product means that 15 plastic bottles have been upcycled—while giving back to the local community by keeping production local and creating living-wage jobs. Besides being an addition to your collection you’ll feel good about, Genusee blue-light glasses and sunglasses also happen to be completely charming, thanks to a signature keyhole design that’s both vintage-inspired and distinct.
