When Polish immigrant Issac Spiewak began selling fleece vests to Brooklyn dock workers in 1904, he probably had no idea that his homegrown enterprise would become one of America’s biggest outerwear brands. It did, however, after its client base grew to include the US military and, eventually, shoppers all over the world. Spiewak parkas and jackets are constructed with a streetwise, utilitarian bent—offering a reliably cool way to keep warm.
