Sergio Rossi mastered the art of shoemaking while working alongside his father in the 1950s. By 1966, shops in Bologna were carrying the younger Rossi’s shoes. As demand for couture footwear skyrocketed in the 1970s, Gianni Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and Azzedine Alaia requested Rossi design shoes for their runway shows, and Sergio Rossi footwear emerged as a major force in the fashion world. Today, longtime Sergio Rossi designer Angelo Ruggeri heads up the brand, continuing to create the distinctively beautiful shoes that have become its signature.
