Known for architectural silhouettes and texture play, it’s not hard to believe that Rachel Comey began her career as a formally trained sculptor. Fresh out of art school, the NYC designer created costumes for local musicians before launching a men's clothing line in 2001. It wasn't long before ladies started buying up the cool, modern pieces, too—so the designer shifted her focus to womenswear a few seasons later. Nowadays, the Rachel Comey label is a staple for its structured dresses, tailored jumpsuits, and wide-leg denim—all complemented by the collection's sleek shoes, eclectic bags, and arty jewelry.
