Cool, Versatile Summer Dress
I wore this to work today with strappy sandals, yet also like it styled (as pictured) with utilitarian ankle boots for when the weather gets cooler in autumn. I'm 5'5" and am a little busty for my size and worried that a 34 may hang weirdly/formlessly on me. It actually looked just as pictured. The crepe drapes well, is light, and is opaque without a lining.

Classic High-Heeled Espadrille!
Sorting out clothes and shoes for the upcoming summer, I had to come to terms with my go-to black suede espadrilles being... really, really tired. They went to the shoe shop last summer, had a glorious renaissance, and have endured me and wood-glue trying to give them a boost this spring. Enter Castaner to the rescue. From Spain, from a company that knows espadrilles! Canvas, yet sexy! Super classic. Well-made. Love these new espadrilles.

Trusty J Brand Jeans
I'm not much of a denim fiend and do not follow trends so well, so have loved my J Brand skinny, dark wash styles for years. I consider them classics. I have a few silk blouses that want a slim white pant for summer, couldn't find that perfect white pant, so went with a clean-lined white jean idea. These have the same great quality I enjoy in my other J Brands, yet for what I was needing them for (impostering as work pants), the denim texture was more obvious (they are jeans, tho!) and the 26's length on a 5'5" person was about an inch longer than I needed to go with ankle-tie sandals. Good opacity, great fit.

Softest Denim and Great Lines!
Out of three different brands of ankle-length white jeans I tried on to fill in for slim professional pants this season, the Prima were tied for 1st. The fabric is gorgeous and lightweight for summer. Super slimming and clean lines. The hem fits for a 5'5" person to show off favorite summer footwear.

Amazing White Ankle Jean
Unable to find a slim cropped white work pant this season that looks modern, I ordered 3 pairs of white denim from different brands from Shopbop and liked them all. I'm between a 25 and 26 and the 25s worked well in the Florence. I'm 5'5" and the hem hits right where it needs to show off some new killer ankle-tie sandals (hello black Castaner espadrilles and red suede Vince!). I ultimately chose the DL1961 jeans because they are opaque without feeling heavy for the summer, have a clean slim fit, and have great stretch quality. Sometimes slim jeans have ruching along the inside leg seam when sitting/crossing legs and these don't. They look great with silk blouses and sandals.

Gorgeous Fabric and Color
This rich bronze/amber color is beautiful! I love the sleeve architecture (zoom in on some of the photos to see it!) and the collar details. I tend to buy one or two Vince pieces each season and rarely part with them - they tend to be timeless even though each new style is current and different. I paired this blouse with a dark aubergine/burgundy suede legging pant from Vince I bought last fall (I think Vince still makes that style) - just gorgeous together!

So Lovely!!!
These Sigerson Morrison boots caught my eye in a recent ShopBop mailer - the dark red color is beautiful and the suede and craftsmanship are outstanding. I love the shape of the heel and the fit will look great with fall dresses and skirts. I splurged a few years ago for a certain black Alexander Wang above-the-knee boot, unsure if the investment would make sense in subsequent seasons. I love that boot and it's still being offered - an urban classic! Glad to have 2 amazing boots for the fall!

Most Fantastic Boots on Planet Earth!
I purchased these boots a couple of years ago and am thrilled they have become an edgy "classic" from A. Wang, who offers subtle variations on the theme each year. Initially, I was not sure if the over-the-knee trend would continue, yet the quality and uber unique design of this boot made sense to gamble. The relatively flat heel (Oh, that HEEL detail!!!) makes these weirdly practical, even though that adjective connotes another kind of shoe entirely! Sexy, cool, work-to-museum ready... Great leather. Perfect boot.

architecturally cool
These are very similar to a pair of Sigerson Morrison sandals I have from a couple of years ago, yet are like the mysterious, arty big sister of them... When they were reduced, it gave me perfect reason to have both! They have a cool silhouette and are of course well-made. The fixed ankle strap does not lay flat against the foot, yet I think it is a detail that is meant to contrast with the buckled strap. I wear an 8 in US lines and a 38.5 in European lines, so the 38.5 was right-on. These are not hard to walk in, yet my gait I can tell it a little less fluid, compared to narrower heels.

Snazzy mid-heeled shape
I am always on the lookout for a pair of black work heels for less dressy days, yet which are still interesting. These fit the bill. Also, I have a few skirts and dresses which fall somewhere south of mini and north of pencil. The heel height is great for these. I wish the lining was a darker color
