I read the reviews and was convinced these would stretch out. I have average to narrow feet, one is an 8 and the other foot is closer to an 8 1/2. I ordered the 39 and they were very small. Instead of returning I stuck to the reviews and wore these with socks etc. to stretch them out. The one clog almost fits okay (on the sz 8 foot) if that is helpful for sizing. I am glad I got these during the Shopbop sale so I'm only out $250 instead of $300. Size up, don't believe they will mold and stretch by much.

I ordered what was in the photo--a black clog with a wood (and, unstained base). I received a black clog with a black base that has a synthetic-appearance and feel. (I have No.6 clog boots, and know what the wood base feels like.) Either way, the photo is of the clogs with the light-colored base. There are black clogs with a black base on the No.6 Web site; I didn't order those here. I will be returning them. I don't need another pair of clogs with a black base, and I had intended on having clogs with a wood base, not a synthetic.
As for the fit, it was good. True to size.

Let Them Stretch!
When I first got these clogs, I thought they were too small, too. They are definitely a tighter fit than the No. 6 New School Tread Clog (which I also love!), but if you walk around in them with a pair of sweat socks on to stretch them just a bit before you wear them out for the first time, they fit beautifully. They are also really flattering, look great with jeans, skirts and shorts and completely lengthen your legs.

These are beautiful. I understand that these stretch to fit in the width, but the length is also short. I am a 7.5 on left foot, and 8 on the right foot, and the 38 is too short on me. AND I want to wear these with socks so ...going back! hope this helps someone.

I absolutely LOVE clogs. When I first tried these shoes on, I thought they were way too tight and that I'd have to return them. I then learned on the maker's site that they stretch to fit. After wearing them all day for a few days, they indeed molded and fit perfectly to my foot! They don't slide off, but aren't too tight. I never wear heels, but these are as comfortable, if not more comfortable, than flats.
