    About the Designer

    Hailing from a family with three decades of experience in the clothing industry, sisters Stephanie and María Catalina Martínez were steeped in fashion as children, and later went on to education at Parsons and stints at Gucci and Cartier. After eventually returning to their native Barranquilla, Colombia, the pair founded their Waimari label, a luxury resortwear line with a focus on traditional handiwork and mindful, locally-focused manufacturing. Take a look at Waimari’s lovely cover-up tops and dresses and you’ll immediately be struck by each piece’s intricate, expert detailing and carefully considered silhouette—qualities that can only be the result of years of study and lots of love.
