Very pretty off-shoulder look
This very popular top definitely fills the spring need for a shoulder-baring, loose piece. I'm a small 00, this is already a loose, full cut, and the 0 is big enough on me to look tunic-y - I would only wear with slim bottoms or something voluminous and avant garde That said, the fabric is nice, it's not at all see-through - refreshing in a white top- and the shape at the shoulders is lovely. It's NOT elasticated, it is a fitted neckline, so it's not so easy to move around in but it looks much better than a stretchy neckline would. I'm keeping it, expect a lot of wear, and would consider getting the black should it go on sale.

Pretty, but such cheap fabric
This is a lovely cut for a dress, sweet and sexy at the same time. Just the right amount of skin. But the fabric feels cheap and is so see-through that the loops for hanging will show through - you'd have to cut them off. This is at best a $350 dress, not a $700 dress. I find this common with Elizabeth & James. I'm a very small 00, took the smallest size and it fit, so it is cut quite small, however the length is very, very long, so petites would be stuck with a lot of alterations. RETURN.

Pretty dress, slightly funky cut
This dress is very tight in the torso with a big bell skirt, so it has a bit of a ballgown look. As with most Self-Portrait, I think the quality is a bit lacking, but it's a "pretty" dress for a spring wedding or similar. I'm a 00, very small size, but a D-cup (30D), and my girls would need some serious tailoring to stay in this dress. I would recommend it for the A to B cups among us, on whom it may be amazing.

HELLO LOVER. Great versatile dress.
I wish this came in a million colors. It's just a simple, loose, silk shift with HUGE bell sleeves. Very comfy - not at all body conscious, but not a schmatte either. It's quite conservative in the sense that it covers everything but your legs - work worthy without being boring. I see this in the summer with anything from flats to pumps (work) and in the winter with tights. The silk isn't luxurious but it's ok and feels nice. I bought a 0 and it fits well (5'1", 94 or so) - the very loose shape leaves a lot of room. The sleeves will need shortening so keep that in mind if you don't have reallllly long arms.

Who fits in this dress?
This dress is nearly sold out, so it must work for someone. But I cannot imagine whom. I am 5'1" and under 95 and I can't zip it up. The bottom half is weirdly uneven and weird and the top, my 30D chest will just not even squeeze into. I thought this would be a hip summer khaki/semi military bustier dress. It's not hip. On me it's crazy tight in a Kardashian kind of way - and I am not built like a Kardashian. It looks cheap, it feels cheap, and honestly, it looks cheap on. My best guess is if you are 5'10" and still a size 0, this MAY work for you. But the fabric and construction are still meh.

Such a great cut, such cheap fabric
The TOP of this dress is so sexy and beautifully cut, a great evening dress for someone who wants to show some breast-age. Then it devolves into a wrinkly, bulgy tulip-wrap mess that ruins the whole concept. If I could alter the fabric into something that doesn't feel like polyester, and eliminate the weird layers at the tummy, I would buy it in multiples. I so want this dress to work, but it makes my top half look like a movie star and my bottom half like Home Shopping Network :( That said...if you have awesome boobage and you want to hide some extra below the waist - this may work for you. BTW, I'm a D-cup and while I agree this dress is all about the boob, it's not THAT naked. You could wear it at an evening wedding and it would be just on the edge of too sexy.

Empire waist but cute
This will work on someone who wants to hide tummy and hips as there is a TON of excess fabric under the bust. It's nice fabric for this price point and a pretty lace, just very Empire. If you can wear this shape (I can't) try it. I took an XXS and found it true to size except for the fact that I could totally be pregnant and wear this!

Very, very pretty dress; quality ok
This is one of those dresses that looks like its editorial shoots. The idea seems as though it would not work on a real person but it does. My issue with Self-Portrait is always that the quality doesn't quite match the price. While this dress looks SO pretty on, the material does not feel expensive or luxurious. It's basically a step or two above Free People, which at nearly $600 is not what I expect. The dress should be $400. I bought a 0 (I am a very small size, a 00 equivalent) which will still need to be taken in a little, and also taken up (I am 5'1"), which could be complex given the nature of the embroidery. I will also have to sew in bra cups, as will anyone with breasts that need any support. So it may go back due to anticipated cost of alterations. Still worth trying, especially if you're taller and skinny.

Amazing quality denim, great flares
have just started venturing into flares. I love the idea but I'm petite (5'1"), so they have to be just right. This is only my second pair of R13...the first were crossover which I did NOT like, but the denim was lovely. These are all over great. I can only describe these as "Kate Moss flares"...they look as though you found them in a vintage shop..they have the fraying that stilettos give to flares, they are super soft and just look...cool. I am usually a 24 and a 24 in these fits comfortably, but of course will need crazy hemming, so I will have to find a genius to save the fraying. Only four stars because, while awesome, the retail price is FAR too high especially given the complex alterations anyone under 5'10" will need. I bought on serious sale and would not pay $600 for these - $300-$350 maybe, including the alteration.

Large and unflattering
Even the smallest size is loose in the waist, and overall the harem effect just doesn't seem to work with this fabric.
