Stays put/Holds a lot of hair/Novel
PRO:Stays in my hair on it's own (i.e., no need to seek help from hair ties to bolster it).PRO:It holds a lot of hair.I wore it as modeled in the image; and I have thick hair.PRO:Love the French feel of it.It's made in FRANCE.Yeah.PRO:Very original.A stand-out piece. PRO:Earrings etc. are not needed when one has this on with just plain old jeans and a tee, or even with something more dressy.CON:My daughter does not like the barrette. It reminds her of my Kenneth Jay Lane Butterfly necklace, which she calls "crass; cheaply vulgar; tasteless; crude."You may have her tastes and not mine. The gold is very similar to my Kenneth Jay Lane Butterfly necklace(which,I never wore by the way. I agree with her about it). However, on the barrette the butterflies are smaller & thus less tacky in my daughter's opinion.CON:It is pricey for a barrette and the customs (for importing it from ShopBop) makes the pricing even more of a CON.OVERALL:If you want a stand-out barrette, this may be it.

Calling Plus Size Gals 14 to 16 Bottom
I rate this as "smaller than expected" only because I have 3 other Chinti and Parker skirts and 2 of the 3 are size M. They both fit comfortably. I ordered size M this time - remembering that the L might be too puffy. I overlooked the fact that the "covered elastic waist" is only in the back on the Bow Print Mid skirt. This means that it has less flexibility than an elastic waist at the front and back. It fits a little tight but I think it will be ok and I will keep it. The material is gorgeous and one can tell it is not a "cheap" skirt. IMHO the pattern is much nicer in person. The pattern kind of reminds me of the beautiful patterns you see on traditional African clothes in some parts of that continent. For reference, I wear a size 14 to 16 (think GAP zip-up skirts) on bottom. I am 5'9". I have a flat bottom and narrow hips. I have a pot belly too. I am 18 to 20 on top; so this skirt balances me out.

Calling Plus Size Gals
Smaller than expected is my rating since I have other Chinti and Parker skirts, with elastic waists, that have more give. Size M is a little tight. But then again, I am a size 14 to 16 on bottom. The L would have fit more comfortably, but I would be fearful of the puff. As it is, the puff is still a concern on the M. I may send it back. I am plus size but have no bottom and hips; yet, this skirt makes me look as big on bottom as I am on top (20 to 22 on top), which is arguably good given that I like to look portioned. This is my 4th Chinti and Parker skirt and I find them to be stand-outs. The pattern on this one is much nicer in person than in the image. The material is of the highest quality. I am glad I got it on sale though. The cost to me: $127.67 in Canadian dollars, including $30.54 import fees. This is more when converted to US dollars.

Pricey but L fits this 14 to 16
An Average to Good review would be more accurate. I deem it average because the material is very flimsy for the price. I paid 116.66 for it - more in US dollars - due to customs to bring it into Canada. I think it is too pricey for what it is. The good news, given that I am top heavy, it balances me out with just a bit of a flare. But that's when the material comes into play. Maybe a little too clingy for me. The good news, plus size gals who are 14 to 16 on the bottom may get this to work. That's me and the L fits. I rate it "true to size" because I don't believe in how society labels plus size. I would advise waiting for a possible 30 to 50 reduction before purchasing. I would not keep it if I had tons of choice as a plus sized woman. I think I could get more for my buck. I still may send it back. I am unsure. But I wouldn't keep it at 116.66 Canadian (more in US dollars) if I had so little to choose from as a plus size woman.....

By Five Eight In Height, Plus On Top
Picture this. I run a size 20(top)/10-14(bottom) to a 16(top)/10-8(bottom), depending on brand. Picture this. Size 3 in Raquel Allegra's Maxi Skirt on me. Quite something to look at. It makes me look so thin on bottom. I look like I have one leg. That's how thin I look on the bottom in this Maxi Skirt. Alas, I am not proportioned. I look like an upside-down pear. This Maxi Skirt is for proportioned people (what isn't eh, lol). I think it is gorgeous though. Nice thin breathable material. I am 5'8" and it is a perfect length for me - a tiny bit longer than pictured on me than on the model. I take away one star due to the placement of the pockets. The pockets are too close together IMHO. Think about how pockets on hoodies are placed and you get the picture. A final note: I am returning my size 3. Maybe one of you proportioned ladies can enjoy it. :)

Shape, material, & pattern are GORGEOUS.
I LOVE the Pickles Puppy: the navy and red version of this scarf. In addition to the pattern and colour, the shape is very nice and makes it possible to wear it in various ways. The 27% silk is a nice combination. To be honest, I am not a fan of silk, especially in scarves (sweat and silk is yucky). I wish it was a little less silk, but the 27% does not take away from my LOVE for the scarf. Best part: the dog pattern and stripes, and the gorgeous colour combination. The previous reviewer mentioned that the scarf works well with her dark hair. My strawberry blond hair is also a fit to the navy and red version. I like the navy and red so much, I may have a closer look at the other colour.

Calling Plus Size Gals
I am very happy with the BLACK version of the Tessa Eyelet Midi Skirt by Ella Moss. I am plus size, about a 14 on the bottom with more than a bit of a pot belly; yet, the size LARGE fits me comfortably - thanks to the elastic waist. At the same time, I find it slimming. I am top heavy and it helps to balance me out too. Beyond my happiness with the sizing, it is quite beautiful. I know I shall wear it all the time. In fact, I plan to buy a 2nd one in BLACK/LARGE. This is a skirt that does not come along often. Even if I was not plus size, I'd still love it. Well worth the high price point, and extra and high customs fees to import into Canada. A+++++++++++.

Stretcher Than Madewell Bayfront Skirt
When I first put on the red Madewell Turntable Skirt (size LARGE), it fit nicely. But I think it stretched after about 5 hours of wear. Now, the LARGE wears more like an EXTRA LARGE (maybe?). I'll have to wear it a few times to get a real feel for it. Nonetheless, this is ok for me since I am PLUS SIZE. I just recently purchased another elastic waist skirt by Madewell, the Bayfront Skirt. Alas, the elastic in it has little to no stretch (more like NO stretch). I should also note that though I am PLUS SIZE, I have a flat bottom and small hips. So, I can do with a bit of volume, which the Turntable Skirt has. It may not work for a bottom heavier gal. A final comment: I love the red.

This plus-size gal fit into LARGE
The Pierre Balmain Long Tank was a risk for this plus size gal. But the large fit me (albeit, it is tight and is not baggy as it is meant to be). I am 16 to 20 in plus size tops, depending on the brand. The RED colour is lovely too. I would not have purchased it, except for the EXTRA 25% off the sale price of CA$ 59.85. I also would not have bought it if I could find fashionable tops easily for my size. It is very hard to find anything nice for my size where I live; thus, I often have to settle by paying more than I want for a simple tank. Yes, this tank is Pierre Balmain and hence the price; but it is still a tank. However, if a tank can equal sophistication and elegance, it is probably from Pierre Balmain. I subtracted one star due to the price, which was expensive even on sale and with an EXTRA 25% off.
