Description needs updating.
Shopbop might want to update the description for these mittens. There's no cord or string attached; the mittens are separate and not connected in any way. Also, there's a slit in the thumb of each mitten for texting which isn't mentioned in the current description. So if you're not looking for texting mittens, the slits aren't useful. As for sizing, I have small hands and these mittens are best suited for medium hands. I returned them because they were too big and I really wanted mittens that are connected by a cord.
