Description

An elegant dress from Diane von Furstenberg , constructed of sheer organza and crisp jersey. The silhouette begins with an organza illusion neckline and continues into a tailored bodice, while the skirt falls in structured pleats to the hem. On-seam pockets sit at the hips, and the back fastens with a button keyhole and hidden zip. Optional waist tie. Sleeveless. Lined.

Fabric: Crisp, mid-weight jersey / organza.
Shell: 78% viscose/16% polyamide/6% spandex.
Trim: 100% silk.
Lining: 100% polyester.

Well made but not wearable

Obviously the quality of the fabric and sewing is impeccable (standard DVF). Nonetheless, this dress is a huge disappointment to me because unless you have legs like the model you're going to look like a creepy 1800's porcelain play doll. The reason: The skirt portion puckers up and out waaaay more and the entire fit is waaaay longer on shorter people. Seriously, the skirt puffs out so much it looks like an absurd Lady Gaga outfit. Otherwise, the lace around the collar is elegant and the color is gorgeous! I wish I could keep this but if I saw anyone wearing this I would probably cringe.

The colour.....

I rate this dress 5 stars because it is truly flattering and very well constructed, however the colour is a difficult one to pull off. I have medium brown skin and the muted shade really does nothing for me. It's not grey but not quite beige...probably look great on a very pale person but I am reluctantly returning it and going to purchase the black version from a different retailer. What a shame. Fits true to size. I'm 5"5" 118 lbs and the size 2 was perfect.
