Designer
Designer James Perse found his calling in fashion when he designed the perfect baseball cap and sold it in his father's LA boutique. When movie directors wanted the caps for their cast and crew and record labels wanted them for tours, he decided to launch the James Perse collection. I wanted this dress so badly...
I wanted this dress so badly that someone had returned it in a size larger than I normally wear and had it taken in. It was worth it and I love the dress. I also have it in the orange/red color that Shopbop sold a few months ago. Wish I also bought it in blue.

Not the greatest
I bought the green version of this dress and it is amazing. The fabric they used for the white one however is not the greatest. Its very delicate. The straps are also insanely long so be prepared to visit the tailor if you keep the dress. Sent it back

Very low neckline!
Great white summer dress. I bought the smallest size as I am petite. I love how you can make it longer or shorter just by rushing the dress. It's not see through at all. But the neckline is super low I might have to get the straps taken in.

Cute dress with fit issue
I had read the other reviews noting the weird fit of the very long straps but decided to give it a try myself since I love James Perse and don't mind a lower neckline. However, as soon as I put it on I saw exactly what they meant! The straps are RIDICULOUSLY long; they cause the scoop neck to hit below my boobs. The rest of the dress was adorable, perfect fit and would have been an ideal white summer dress. Big bummer.

Very So What
I have a few James Perse dresses and was excited to see this in white. Nothing special, just a simple summer T-shirt dress. Well to say I was disappointed is on understatement! Its really long, somewhat of a midi, fits loose on top (ordered the size 1), and does not gather so it was just a mess. Will just have to keep looking for the perfect T-shirt dress.

Great Summer Dress
This dress is true to size. A little long in the straps however but ok for me as I am 5.10" If short I don't think it would work well. Racer back top so need either a racer back bra or the straps that pull it in. I have this in the white and orange and love it!!

James Perse
I love James Perse desses. They are so versatile and comfortable. This one is much tighter than I any previous James Perse dresses, but I like it a lot. Very, very sexy and form fitting. I am tall, 5"9, so I found the length to be perfect. I normally wear a 4 or a 6 in dresses, and I ordered a 3, glad I did because the 2 would have been way too small. Great transitional dress (in black) from summer to fall. Looks good with wedges or cute flats.

Purchased the dresses in black and white in S.
Both are a bit big for me on top (long straps) but the white seemed particularly longer so perhaps someone bought and returned this dress after wearing?
I exchanged for the white for XS and very happy with it but must keep up with the exercise to look decent in these dresses!

pricey but a keeper
This is quite a high price tag for a simple tank dress. The cotton is super soft and has lots of stretch...it definitely has a body conscious fit. I ordered the black and even though the fabric is fine you cannot see through it at all. I debated about keeping it, only because of the price tag...but because it basic black and simple..I decided to keep it. It feels and looks great. I live in Canada, so with the customs and duties it was over $200.00. FYI for Canadian shoppers...you will save HUGE$ if you opt to pay customs and duties on delivery, directly to the UPS driver....I saved $50.00. .If I had used the shopbop global service the customs and duties deposit would have been $85.00!!!(they do not recognize NAFTA)...paying directly to the carrier, I was only charged $34.00....Beware. All in all the dress is very sexy...and very comfortable...a keeper.

love, love, LOOOOOOVE it!!
This dress does run a tad on the big side. However, I can not say enough about this dress. I like ultra low tops and this one takes the cake!! Super, super sexy! I do agree with the other reviews that this dress does run long, but you are supposed to scrunch it up. I would also say that you might want to size down on this one. I didn't because I really like things low cut and its still give me shape and is tight enough.
I really can't not speaker more highly of this dress...it's moving to the front of my closet!!
