Designer
Australian designer Brianna Hallihan cut her teeth in London and Paris before finding her current design calling. Inspired by time spent volunteering at a women's sewing co-op in Cambodia, Hallihan created Mettle, a line of responsible (and beautiful) jewelry made from recycled bombshell metal used by the Khmer Rouge. Each piece is handmade, fair trade, and hypoallergenic, and the line is entirely produced in Cambodia within a non-profit skills training project.

Uniquely beautiful with a story...
This metal bag is so gorgeous to me! I can imagine an ancient egyptian or greek goddess wearing it as much as a futuristic sci-fi warrior vixen. It even has a slightly earthy vibe to it, but It absolutely blings, without being gaudy... It's SUPER shiny, a lot shinier than it looks in the picture, but it is quite small. My onliest gripe would be the opening at the top-fear of my belingings falling out or being snatched- so I actually line the bag with a pretty scarf before I put all my goodies in & tie a knot around them at the top- it looks pretty! And most importantly, it has a fascinating story behind it because it is recycled, turning an absolute atrocity to humankind into something positive and healing for the future. I think I'm kinda obsessed with it a this point.
