Designer James Perse found his calling in fashion when he designed the perfect baseball cap and sold it in his father's LA boutique. When movie directors wanted the caps for their cast and crew and record labels wanted them for tours, he decided to launch the James Perse collection. Perse next worked on creating the perfect T-shirt, and today is known for an array of luxe jersey essentials including dresses, tanks, and pants with a nod to the casual Southern California lifestyle.

Super soft and cozy
I love James Perse and this jacket is no exception. Soft and comfy, but flattering at the same time. It is pretty casual, so I don't think I will wear to work. It is little longer than picture makes it appears, which is no problem for me. The sleeves are a little long and I need to fold them over. I have pretty long arms too. I am 5'7, 145lb, with broad shoulders and a muscular build. The size 3 fits perfect (my normal size for Perse clothes).

Great everyday fall jacket
I'm 5'1" and 105 lbs and the 0 fit perfectly. Skims your curves so it gives shape, but the soft cotton, medium thickness makes it quite cozy. For my size, in a zero it's perfect with a tee underneath for fall. Too fitted for layering with a sweater if you're looking for more of a coat.

The quality of the jacket looks much better on the model than in person. I didn't try it on because of the bulky fabric that I did not care for. It also did not look well-made, not typical at all for James Perse. I did, however, like the style, but not well enough to keep.

Horrible
This was very reasonably priced but even for the small price tag, it was not worth it. So poorly made. The shoulders were lobsided. Was very disappointed. I have had issues with James Perse though.

Love IT!!!
I have it in black and the fit is wonderful - typical of James Perse; form fitting as well as figure flattering - it gives you curves when you don't have them (well, I don't anyway!). If you haven't tried JP clothing, stick with the size guide and go up a size if unsure. I took a size 4 and typically take a 10 or 12 in Theory jackets and outer wear and it fits perfectly. I can get it over a shirt or blouse but over a large sweater it would look bulky and stretched out. I agree with what the other reviewers said - cuddly and cozy - soft and very comfy! Mine seems a bit longer than how it appears on the model - mid hip length and I'm 5'9".

Awkward collar
There were a few things I loved about this jacket, which I tried on in black at the James Perse store: It's snuggly warm and has a beautiful slim fit. Unfortunately, the shawl collar is too large and doesn't lie flat on one's back. It continually crept up/stood up on my neck, so I had to send it back.
