Designer
Established in 1936, Ray-Ban has become known for sunglasses that mix the quality construction and durability of performance eyewear with timeless styling. Ray-Ban emerged as a Hollywood favorite in the '60s when Audrey Hepburn wore the Wayfarer in Breakfast at Tiffany's, and their classic Aviator has been featured in a number of films. In 2006, Ray-Ban reintroduced their original Wayfarer, recreating it down to the tiniest detail. The style was a runaway hit, establishing a new generation of Ray-Ban fans.

They definitely have a smaller profile than the originals, but I like the smaller frames on my small face.

I have been eyeing the black New Wayfarers for a while and finally bought them during the Friends and Family 20% off sale. I was concerned about the level of UV protection as there are no details in the description, yet other Ray-Ban styles were described as "100% UV protection". I was very pleased when my sunglasses arrived and they do indeed have 100% UV protection from the G-15 lens ("Normal" lens, ie not polarised). They are in category 3 of sun protection. Note also that the description has the lens width at 55mm, but they are actually 52mm (the "52" in the 52-18 model number), which is great for me as I have a small face. The original Wayfarers are too big for me. It would be great if Shopbop could put the full model numbers in the description!
I love these sunnies! The frames are glossy black and the lens are called green, but look grey. They are made in Italy.
