Description

Swirls of contrast trim and a demure silhouette add ladylike details to a jersey shift dress. Box pleats structure the skirt, and an exposed zip fastens the back. Short sleeves. Lined.

Fabric: Mid-weight jersey.
65% viscose/30.5% nylon/4.5% spandex.
Dry clean.
Imported.

Designer

After training at Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art, Alice Temperley founded Temperley London in 2000. ALICE by Temperley is her latest project. Launched in 2010, the brand was inspired by London life as well as the designer's travels in Asia and Africa. True to that inspiration, each piece is throw-on-and-go easy, but radiates eclectic rocker chic. Says Temperley, "We tried to create the perfect wardrobe of things you can just throw in a suitcase and go."

Looks Better in the photo
I was really hoping this would be the dress I wore to my party in a few weeks. It looked sophisticated and unique in the photo. But when I tried it on, it made me look like a German beer girl. The skirt is too short and flares too much and gives the dress a costumey look. The fabric was thick and the dress was well made and structured, but it just did not look great on. I returned it.
