British label Cambridge Satchel was born of necessity in 2008, when mother-daughter duo Freda Thomas and Julie Deane were searching for a way to raise money for school. Inspired by vintage Oxford and Cambridge school satchels and the bags in the Harry Potter films, they created a messenger that was both traditional and eclectic. The cross-body bag became a hit with fashion bloggers and the company now offers a range of sizes, styles, and wild colors. Cambridge Satchel bags define classic, with a twist.

I got this is the metallic rose gold and it is adorable. The leather is thick and great. The size is just big enough and the strap is comfortable. It is a little stiff, but it is sturdy and will likely soften a bit with time. The buckles actually buckle, not just magnetic snaps like most these days. This can be pro or con, because each time you need to close or open it take a bit of time with the stiff, thick leather and the buckles wear and eat at the straps a bit. Again this authenticity may appeal to some. I like it, especially juxtaposed with the feminine and fun shade of gold. Great bag, will carry this around on vacation and sight seeing for sure.

The shape of the bag is perfect, lilac metallic color is gorgeous! Looks really fashion! There are of course some disadvantages: very uncomfortable locks, no linning inside, small capacity. But for such price it is a good buy!

I love the color and the size. iPad fits perfectly in the bag. I just couldn't get over the closure. I usually don't even want to bother with a zipper and stick to magnetic closure... When I ordred I thought I could leave the flap closed without having to work the fastener but the bag doesn't stand/sit well like that. I had to return the bag sadly.

The metallic leather is great, the physical unbuckling of each strap to access the bag is ridiculous. Most bags have the appearance of a buckle yet have a press stud to pull open. Size, shape & appearance are great, functionality poor.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas.The color and quality are fabulous.I only wish it could have been embossed like when you order directly from the company.My daughter(15) absolutely loved it,and it can hold a lot for a small bag.
