Designer

In 2006, childhood friends Emily Faulstich and Kimberley Gordon founded Wildfox clothing in LA, creating tees that became immediately popular among the celebrity set for their great cuts and unique designs. Inspired by dreams, vintage tees, and their friendship, the designers created a brand based on love and having fun. Today, Faulstich and Gordon spend their time visiting vintage shops and working in their studio, and recently expanded their line into tanks, sweatshirts, leggings, dresses, and denim.

Disliking math does not make you stupid.
Equating dislike of math with a deficit in intellect is what kept colleges from accepting me despite a MENSA-level IQ and near-perfect verbal SAT score. It's irresponsible to claim that Wildfox is sending a bad message by saying "it's ok to not like" math (it is, you know. It IS ok that I don't like it,) while implying that dislike of mathematics should be seen as some sort of badge of ignorance or stupidity. I'm not good at math, I greatly dislike it, and that hasn't a single thing to do with my overall intelligence or whether I enjoy and value learning as a whole. Please consider that the stereotypes you're indirectly pushing are just as harmful as the ones you're up in arms about. That said, I'd wear this. Sorry.

Math: the cog that turns the wheel...
Math is the cog that turns the wheel of our civilization. Without math there's no Science. Without Science there's no Research. Without research there's no Scientific, Medical, technological progress: no iPhones, no iPads, no computers, no Internet to shop online, no airplanes, no cars, no new textiles for fashion, no sewing machines to make fashion, no drugs to kill our illnesses, no electricity, no bridges, no dams, no roads, no buildings, no houses... Without Math we'll still be living in caves. Scientific research is carried out by less than 0.001% of the world population. And most of these scientists, who use math to make the rest of the world a better place, are men. If an impressionable 9 year old girl, who has a talent for math, sees a 'cool' girl wearing a shirt that says ' math sucks' that little girl, who could potentially become one of these scientists, would very likely shun math just to be cool. The statement on this sweater is irresponsible and plain ignorant

Poor message
I own many wildfox pieces, and this sweater really gives me pause. I see wildfox as portraying a fun, youthful, independent girl, and the message that this sweater sends is that math is hard, and it's ok to not like it. Will girls give math and science a chance if they keep seeing messages like this?
