Description

Subtle twists make a silk-crepe dress modern, yet elegant. Fine chain wraps around the braided collar, and a snapped keyhole closes the back. Ruching gives the shoulders a gentle puff, and the 3/4 sleeves end in braided elastic insets. Unlined.

Fabric: Silk crepe.

Beautiful material, odd fit for petites
While the skirt length was OK (I'm 5'1", 32 x 24 x 34. 105 lbs.; I ordered an XS and the skirt is only slightly longer than what you see on the much taller model, whom I believe wearing a size S), the top part of the dress just didn't work for my small frame. The sleeves have some subtle pleating when they meet the shoulder that created a puffy look I didn't like. The sleeves were also a lot longer on my arms than the model's, almost reaching my wrists. I liked the high neckline but, in combination with the billowing effect of the sleeves/shoulders, I felt a little marmish in this dress -- such a shame, as the royal blue is even more gorgeous and vibrant in person. I hate to return such a pretty blue dress, but return I must. Probably a better fit for taller ladies.

not only silk
Disappointed, the dress was lining of 100% polyester, which was not mentioned when I ordered. Silk dress itself is very good, the village well, sewn as well, skirt unlined very thin, and that's on top of the lining of the dress is very upset, returned the dress shopbop.

Classy and Flattering.
Bought this dress as well as a few others for an upcoming wedding I'm attending. As soon as I tried this one on, I knew I'd be sending the others back. I'm usually a size 4 in dresses, so I was back and forth on whether to order a small or a medium. I went with the medium, but I think either would have worked - the cut of the dress, especially the elastic at the waist, ensures that it will flatter a variety of shapes and sizes. I was very comfortable in this as well - it's breathable and not restrictive at all. It's the perfect length, too - at 5'3", what looks like a minidress on the model with often be knee length on me, but this dress hits me about 4 inches above the knee, which is perfect for my purposes. Very pleased with my purchase.
