I was very happy with the Aoki star print J Brand jeans, so I thought I'd also be wrapped about these. But unfortunately they are just ok. The fit is ok (not as great as the star print jeans), I would say it's true to size. However, when I sat down with these, the material all gathered around my crotch, which was a bit weird. When I crossed my legs, the material on my thighs crinkled as well, which felt a bit odd. Perhaps it's just me? I don't mind the whiskering at the front of the jeans, that's fine. The colour is very similar to the photos. Just not loving them as much as I thought I'd be.

Great shorts
I wanted a pair of longer shorts in denim and this definitely fits the bill. They are a good length, fit true to J Brand sizing and I know that I will be wearing them often.

Perfect denim shorts!
I really love the wash of these shorts - nice and light for spring and summer, but with no distressing (which is so common on lighter denim shorts). I am consistently a 27 and I found these fit slightly loose and slouchy. While I like this for denim shorts, if you are between sizes or want a tight fit, I would size down. I love the longer length. These hit me about four or five inches above the knee. I anticipate a lot of wear for these shorts in the next few months!

Not flattering on the thighs
I ordered these and the Vince denim bermuda shorts to compare. While I actually love the color of these more, the Vince are much more flattering on the legs. These actually have faded "stripes" aka "wear" that go across the thigh and I think that is what is so unflattering. It actually makes your thighs look bigger - uh no thanks! If you don't worry about making your legs look slimmer (lucky you) then these are really cute! Also I found the fit to have some give and were very comfortable.
