With his visionary aesthetic drawing from emotional power and extraordinary craft, Lee Alexander McQueen (1969-2010) was known for staging provocative shows that were based as much on dramatic performance as on his couture designs, and have become legends of fashion and high art. For 13 years, Photographer Anne Deniau was allowed exclusive backstage passage to McQueen shows, from September 1997 to the final show in March 2010, capturing McQueen at work with his close circle of collaborators, including designer Sarah Burton, milliner Philip Treacy, jewelry designer Shaun Leane, and model Kate Moss. With an artistic eye on the meticulous production of McQueen's fashion spectacles, this volume offers an inspiring photographic homage to the work of a great designer and artist.
