very big and not flattering
i am petite ( 5'2" 95 lbs) and this dress in an XS was very overwhelming. the sleeves were too large and the velvet straps on them were very puffy and odd looking. the sheer back was pretty but the dress did not look nearly as expensive as it is. RETURN!

I loved the idea of this dress as a better than average, black, long-sleveved maxi due to the special detailing. I really like that the dress has a lining and the material is a sturdy wool-jersey blend, and the mesh back is a nice touch. The dress has a great silhouette, and hangs nicely from the hips. I see myself throwing this on as a go to weekend dress with booties for Fall. The only thing I don't like is the banding on the arms. I have lean, but muscular arms and the bands are very tight and uncomfortable. I have an amazing seamstress who says she can fix it for me. I'm going to keep it.

Black Maxi Dress
The dress would have been lovely if not for the velveteen stripes on the arms. Is velveteen still used??? You can not see them in the photo. It looks like a choir gown! I returned this item.
