ummmmm mixed feelings
I'm 5"9 so maxi to me is past the ankle. So when I can find a maxi long enough and flows I get excited. This dress gave me just that, its soft and comfy buttttttt...the slit looks like they just made it at the warehouse before shipping. Ok, because its for a summer trip to the islands it will work with a bejeweled thong sandal ' I will keep it. Otherwise, I'll wear it on the streets with a tory burch flipflop for a fast brunch with my 12 yr old son...

Pencey Standard
I love this dress! I was planning on buying it, and then it went on sale, so I couldn't resist. I wanted a maxi that was just a little different, and this one worked. The slit is great too, its just high enough that it makes it stand out but not too revealing. I ordered a M and it is a little too big, but okay with a belt. I probably would have exchanged for a smaller size but wanted it for a trip and didn't have time.

I like this dress, and will wear it many, many times. Need to cut it shorter. That's the only trouble. The small fits me - I usually wear size 4 or 6 size dress.

Surprisingly sexy
I put this dress on and it immediately felt so comfortable...
It is sexy without being tight. It drapes nicely over the bum and I love the slit.

Perfect
The dress was exactly as described, very soft and flowy and clearly an expensive form of jersey. Should be noted however, that the dress is slightly see-through as can be seen in the picture.

effortless and so pretty on! im 5'7 and the XS is a bit roomy and very long. but nothing a cute wedge couldnt fix. with the sale price, anyone thinking this is cute should def buy it.

Elegant Silhouette
This dress, while a bit more sheer than pictured, is true to size and has a beautiful, sweeping elegance. I love floorlength dresses, especially those that are actually wearable and not too dressy. This play on casual and sophisticated is right on target, and the high slit makes it practical to walk in and sexy. I liked the cream color better, but knew it would be too sheer to wear without a slip. The only criticism is the neckline, a square neck or deeper scoop would have looked better than the semi-awkward crewneck. Overall, definitely my style and wonderful for any season.

Amazing Casual Dress
I wore the black version with a belt and a pair of white converse and tons of funky jewelry and I was set! An amazing comfy casual dress. The slit gives it some sex appeal while staying appropriate. A wee bit sheer, but overall a summer must have!

A simple sexy dress
I love this dress! I got so much compliments, it is a simple dress but very sexy. The size is a little big and long (I am 5'2") but I trimmed mine by about 8 inches and cut the slit higher. I worn a flesh color slip and it was fine (the beige is very thin)
Note to Shopbop, as Pencey Standard to make it in different colors! I would love to see it in red.
