Description
Soft poplin composes a fitted dress from Sonia Rykiel, which takes on a hint of retro appeal with a bow-tied sweetheart neckline and cutouts. The smocked bodice is fitted and feminine, and the pencil skirt hugs the hips and lands just below the knee. Slant pockets lay at the hips, and the back is detailed with a hook-and-eye strap and hidden zip. Unlined.

Legend has it the formidable Sonia Rykiel got her start by commissioning a soft sweater from one of her husband's suppliers in Italy. The sweater was sent back for alterations seven times before she was satisfied with it. Calling it the Poor Boy Sweater, she sold it in her husband's elegant boutique. The Poor Boy made the cover of ELLE and the rest is history. Especially known for her slim sweaters, signature stripes, and assertive statements, Sonia Rykiel has been a force of nature since her birth in 1930.
