Description
Lightweight silk provides feminine drape to this crisp blouse, patterned in a neutral, gently masculine gingham. The placket buttons from the fold-over collar to the slimming shirttail hem, and the sleeves may be worn long or gathered with button-tabs. A breast pocket and box pleat add the finishing details. Semi-sheer.

Unexpected fit
I have a number of Madewell items in my closet, but I found that this one ran really large -- I usually wear a XS, S or 2 in shirts, and ordered a M wanting a slightly larger, looser fit. The item ended up being HUGE, a little too borrowed-from-boyfriend, but looks great layered under jackets or sweaters. The collar is a little strange and not what I've seen from other Madewell shirts, as it's a little bit smaller and with a more angled cut. The fabric is really nice, with a subtle plaid print and barely sheer. I would wear a cami under the shirt for work, but isn't so sheer that you can't just rock a nice I really like the item, but it was one I should have tried on before ordering (and it came without a tag, no returns).

It's not very soft
I really wanted to love this shirt. I ordered it in gray. I don't usually like wearing white undershirts, like in the photo, but I tried one on anyway with this shirt. It actually looked much better with it. I almost decided to keep it after that; however, I couldn't get over the feel of the shirt. It is scratchy feeling. Not soft at all. Because it's the type of shirt I would want to wear casually, it has to feel comfortable.

cute print, OK quality
The print is really cute (I got the white version) but the quality is very so-so. The shirt is thin (you can kind of see my nude bra through it so might be OK for going out but definitely not OK for work) and wrinkles VERY easily. The sleeves are really big - good if you want to roll them up, I guess, but bad if you want to wear them long. It's a good shirt for underneath sweaters and looks OK on its own if you're comfortable with semi-sheer and want an oversized look.

It's a OK sik shirt. I'm 5'2 and I ordered an S in white. It doesn't look as good as what it does in the picture. And I don't really like the cut of the edge. Still it's a good piece for layering.

The colors of the grey shirt are great, and I'm sure this will be a versatile piece, but the quality is mediocre, as is usually the case with Madewell pieces.

I was trying to be thrifty when purchasing this item.....There was a similar silk shirt on shopbop I really wanted, but decided for 150$ less, I'd give this one a go. I suppose for the price, it's alright. I own other blouses this price and they fit and feel much better than this one. But it just didn't seem to drape and hug the way the more expensive blouses in my closet do. The fabric is what ultimately made me return this, it had to be the stiffest, crunchiest, not softest at all top I have ever tried on! True to size_ not true to form sending back

Great silk shirt
Love this shirt. You get the collared shirt look with less wrinkles, because it's silk. Looks great with sleeves buttoned up or down. Cute tucked in or not.
