Designer
The oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States, stepping into a pair of Frye boots is like stepping into history. The company was founded in 1863 and run for 50 years by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England. Frye boots have traveled with soldiers from America's Civil War through World War II, and in the 1960s the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, was reintroduced and soon rose to high demand. Today, Frye's boots still hold a place in American culture.

REVIEWS & RATINGS
Everyday with everything
I thrash these bad boys day in and day out and they still look amazing! I do have to mention that when i first got them i was left with serious scars on my heals from the boot rubbing, so it's worth putting on blister pads while you wear them in.
Dresses/jeans/tights.... anything goes! But beware the top of the boot can rub on more sensitive fabrics and cause wear. ....and the black rubs off too!!
But overall they look kickass!

Amazing boots
I've worn these boots pretty much everyday since I bought them. Perfect in spring with shorts and in the winter with jeans. It's been raining quite a bit lately, but these boots show no sign of distress. Real value for money. The only downside is that the boots aren't lined inside therefore the black dye rubs off slightly when jeans are tucked in.

Eh just alright
I read tons of great reviews on these boots but I find them just alright. They are really hard to get into especially on the bottom buckle. Its hard to get your foot through without having to really push your whole foot, im talking thin socks too It seems as though you really need to break them in first and it does take time. I have worn mine over ten times and my feeling is still the same. They are quite heavy as well but you can tell they are well made and will hold up to wet weather. Overall I think they're a bit overpriced for what you get.

Breaking in required
This is my second pair of Fryes. I also own the 12R Harness. With the Harness I had to go a half size up because the toe is a bit on the narrow side (I have wide feet) but because the Engineers have a round toe I was able to take my true size.
Some warning, they can hurt like a mother on the first wear but after three wears they are more comfortable. Also note that the strap is adjustable and lessening it can help with the comfort level across the top of your foot.

A bit of work, but great boots!
I received these about a month ago, and they're great-looking boots. The sueded leather is beautiful, and you can tell they're a quality product on sight. The first time I wore them, they pinched my heels a little, but they were pretty much ok. The second and third times, and a few after that, they were a bit of a nightmare. I had huge blisters, and they were really painful. That being said, after you break them in, they're like a second skin. A tip for breaking these babies in - don't use leather stretcher, or water, or olive oil, or anything else like that. All you'll need is a pair of hand-grippers, the kind climbers use to improve hand strength. Wedge them into the inside heel of the boot for a few days, and boom, they'll loosen up the heel and the boots will be comfy as hell. Worked perfectly for me. If you take care of these, they feel like they'd last forever. 5 stars despite the break-in process. The tough leather is what makes these so great.

Great Boots!
These fit well, break in quickly, and are beautiful in every way! If you're looking to invest in a great pair of wear-every day booties, I definitely recommend these. A word of caution though- at first they can be a little stiff and snug, but by the third wear or so they'll be perfect.

First pair of Frye!
I just got these as my first pair of Frye boots and the quality along with the craftmanship is amazing. They are really comfortable and seem like you will have them for years to come. A great versitale and wearable piece for any type of climate really, perfect for winter weather as they are quite sturdy but would look great with a pair of cutt offs and a tee in the summer. They are very stiff to begin with and hard to get on and off. Also they fit very big, I would definitely size down for these. Overall a great purchase
