Contrast trim travels along the collar and angular, open placket of this sharply tailored A.L.C. blazer. The asymmetrical hem drapes to crisp points, while light padding lifts the shoulders. Welt hip pockets. Lined.

Fabric: Lightweight wool suiting.
Shell: 85% wool/15% mohair.
Trim: 97% cotton/3% spandex.
Lining: 100% silk.

An Investment Piece
I kept this jacket on my wishlist for a few weeks before taking the plunge (thanks to Shopbop for the great holiday promo which made this a slightly more affordable purchase)... and I'm so glad that I did. I have several ALC pieces and they all get a lot of wear. I love the eggshell color (bright white would have been way too "Miami Vice") with the black as the accent. It's an unusual, but gorgeous change of pace. I ordered an 8 (I'm 5'10, 144 lbs, 34C) and it is VERY fitted. To rev it up, I'll wear a lacy camisole underneath and to increase its everyday wearability, I'll add a tank or t-shirt. Nothing else will fit, but I wouldn't want to size up because doing so would lose its current curve-hugging quality. The material and tailoring are the usual ALC standard of excellence. My only complaint is that there is no way to close the front; not even a concealed hook-and-eye? I'm taking it to the tailor to have that added and then it will be a 5/5 stars piece.
