Accesorize!
When it comes to this dress it's all about the accesories. A good belt that goes over the elastic waist band (empire-waisted for me, since I'm tall) is essential. All my belts, being typically worn low-waisted or over the hips, are slightly big at the tightest point for me. But I'm tall, and the elastic waist part is between my waist and chest. Regardless, this dress looks great with a dark brown belt. And knee-high dark brown boots. Perfect. Now for the perfect sort of weather...If between sizes, go down. I'm a 4-6, though it's hard to say with Marc Jacobs. 4 up top, 8 below, and Small fit great.

Very disappointing. I agree with other reviewers that the quality of the dress is poor - thin material, prickly feel... I hope the material will soften after the first wash. Luckily I got it at the sale price and am not returning as it costs too much to ship back.

Thin fabric
This runs pretty big, like most Marc by Marc Jacobs dresses. The fabric is pretty thin, but fortunately the fabric that layers over your hips will cover up any pantylines! It fits pretty well, especially with a belt. Because of the thin fabric, I don't know whether it's worth paying full-price for, but now that it's on sale I think it's a little easier to justify.
