Description
A wool Sonia Rykiel dress with unique architectural details. Serged seams trace the bodice in diagonal lines from the shoulders to the waist, where accordion pleats fall, gently broken by crimped chevrons before the hem. Welt pockets add detail to the back, which closes with a hidden zip. Close-fitting short sleeves. Silk lining.

Legend has it the formidable Sonia Rykiel got her start by commissioning a soft sweater from one of her husband's suppliers in Italy. The sweater was sent back for alterations seven times before she was satisfied with it. Calling it the Poor Boy Sweater, she sold it in her husband's elegant boutique. The Poor Boy made the cover of ELLE and the rest is history. Especially known for her slim sweaters, signature stripes, and assertive statements, Sonia Rykiel has been a force of nature since her birth in 1930.
