Three-time CFDA award winner and Parsons graduate Derek Lam spent twelve years in the industry before launching his eponymous label in 2003. Luxurious yet wearable, feminine but unfussy, modern but never cold, Lam's designs skillfully manage a combination of refinement and sensuality. "I am interested in what it means to live a contemporary life," says Lam. "I always consider what will work for women at this moment, and to me this moment is about luxury without formality."
