Designer
Designer James Perse found his calling in fashion when he designed the perfect baseball cap and sold it in his father's LA boutique. When movie directors wanted the caps for their cast and crew and record labels wanted them for tours, he decided to launch the James Perse collection. Perse next worked on creating the perfect T-shirt, and today is known for an array of luxe jersey essentials including dresses, tanks, and pants with a nod to the casual Southern California lifestyle.

Nice Dress - Awkward Fit
This is a very nice dress, but, unfortunately, I couldn't get it to look good on me. Perhaps it's because of my height (I'm 5'4''), but the fabric just gathered in all the wrong places and looked messy. I am 122 lbs and curvy, so depending on how I adjusted the ruching on this two-ply cotton dress, I appeared either bloated in the abdomen or bottom-heavy. This is why I think this item would look great on a taller, leggier person than one who is petite. So my complaint is about the fit of this dress on me; the quality and look of it, however, are great.

This is a sexy, yet demure little black dress. So very comfortable. Good for three seasons and easy to pack--wrinkle proof!

Another LBD but why not
First off the material is a great cotton that feels great on the skin. James Perse does it again with great fabric!
Yes it's another LBD but one that gets great CPW (cost per wear) is going to be priceless. It works just about everywhere because I can wear with heels to amp up the look or with Converse sneakers to play it down. That means there are plenty of occasions to get good use of it. Plus it's so soft that I can throw it in my suitcase for a jaunt.
Lastly the details are great! There is ruching on the side and an asymmetric neckline to bare some shoulder. Love the details!
Beware though that it's 2-ply fabric so beware if you tend to heat up.
