Okay I bought this dress in a size 2 in the color black and it was just a little bit bigger than expected around the waist and up top, but other than that this dress is BOMB! Like it is sooooo sexy. Nothing screams more sensual than a black backless silk maxi dress. Definitely a head turner & attention grabber! This has now become one of my favorite dresses! The only thing is that its a very long dress, if your 5'7 and under and plan on wearing this dress with super high heels than you'll be fine. I'm 5'6 (and a 1/2 lol) and i'm going to get the bottom hemmed and the top taken in a bit so it'll fit better. Other than that I have no complains about this dress. If you were considering getting this dress but didn't because of this price (like me) do yourself a favor and just get it. You wont be disappointed!

I bought the emerald in a 6. I paid for $100 in alterations because the straps and length were too long and the top needed better darting. The waist is pretty small. I wish I had sized up, considering the top needed altering regardless. Very beautiful when all is said and done.

Gorgeous dress, fashion tape required.
This dress is gorgeous, however you will need fashion tape. Nothing can show that much skin and magically adhere to your bodily. The waist does run very small relative to the bodice. I am 5'7", 110 pounds, 32A. I wear a size 27s in jeans, always size 0 or 00 on top. The 0 however was not just a little snug on me but impossibly snug, like practically couldn't zip it up and had to pray whilst exhaling every bit of air in my lungs snug. The 2 fits in the waist but up top, my A cups are like, "What do you want from us? We can't fill this." In comes fashion tape to save the day. As long as I don't plan on doing much bending or breathing (which come on, one can never do anyway in a really great gown), it looks amazing. Oh, the hem is super long. With 5" heels I can *just* get away with not hemming it. Summary: order a size up, buy fashion tape, and allow time for hemming if you are shorter than 5'7" and don't plan on wearing 5" heels

Was iffy about this dress at first but ordered it anyways and it was perfect! The emerald color is unique and stunning in person. The backless style and cut in the front is so flattering. Had to get it tailored tho because it was so LONG. Don't let that dissuade you tho bc I got compliments all night on my dress!!

Poorly tailored
I purchased this in green. The color of the fabric is lovely, and reminiscent of the iconic green dress that Keira Knightley's character wore in Atonement. The fit of the dress, however, is very poor, and I had to return it. Without significant tailoring, the front side panels of the dress do not lay smoothly against your front torso. I could not avoid getting the "rippling" effect on both sides. As others have noted, the dress is also very long and would require hemming for most women. Unless you're willing to invest time and money to tailor it to fit you well, I think it would look sloppy and cheap.

Amazing Dress, LOVE
Unique and very flattering. I am always looking for a great unexpected sexy dress and this did the trick. Found that the 4 fit me like a glove. Held my boobs in really well and didn't need to adjust....a great body, looking forward to more like this...thanks Shopbop :)

Big on top, small on the bottom
As other reviewers have stated, this dress was perhaps designed for those with Barbie-esque measurements.
I am an AU10 with a 34C bust and I ordered the US6. Whilst the waist was snug, it was still wearable. However, the bust - even with some tailoring and magical Hollywood tape - still would have gaped at the sides.
It's a shame because the design is lovely but the execution lets it down.
I did not feel that tailoring the dress to my body would have made it any more flattering so I chose to return it.

Perfect beach wedding dress
i have read every review before purchasing this item, and so glad that i did. i'm 6" (182 cm) tall, 64 kilos and my bra cup is B. my waist is 70 cm. it fit me like a glove, and it needed no alterations. Compare your size to mine and see if it will fit. The emerald color is so pretty, especially if yo are tanned. i wore really high heels and it still did not show my feet, that's how long the dress is. The only problem is that you need double side tapes to stick the sides so that your boobs don't slip from the sides and the top looks like it does here on the models.

Great Dress
Big fan of this dress. I am 5'10 and could wear heels with it, which never happens...fit well and was very flattering. The waist fit me fine (reviews about it being too small?) I usually wear a size 2 and took a 2 in this. Big thumbs up from me :)
