Damage Control for Short Skirts
I wanted something that did not scream PANTIES, for both lounging around the house and sudden breezes walking downtown. Got these in Black, they're perfect. Super-soft, breathable material, cover my bum completely. Practically invisible through fabric, but feel substantial. Caveat: I took heed of the prior review on size, I didn't want anything constricting or flattening. So, despite the fact that I'm usually S (occasionally M) in undies (5'5", 125 (maybe 130? I choose ignorance)), I swallowed my pride and bought the L. Seems to have been a good decision, no flattening. Sit on my hips but they don't feel baggy at all. Out of the wash, they look brand new. PS Printed label says air dry, but I'm impatient and the delicate cycle on my dryer did no damage.
Sizing: Smaller than Expected

comfy socks, pretty colors
nothing earth-shattering, but very nice socks for transitional weather. lightweight but sturdy, they look pretty under sandals or peep-toes. muted colors are very versatile and wearable. washed once so far, they've held up well.

peplums, encore!
love, love, love. i have small shoulders/ thin arms, prefer a slim silhouette in blazers. for casual/nightwear, i usually opt for the xs/ size 2. for work, though, i usually err on the conservative side and size up. i wanted this jacket for work, but no size 4 in stock. no problem: the size 2 is maybe *slightly* tight in the waist, but there's only one button (so no gapping) and it looks great open. wore this today over a floaty cropped tank and slim pants, got tons of compliments.

pretty fabric, awkward fit (for me)
Looked so promising, color and fabric were perfect! Unfortunately, the top hangs down to the bottom of my bony clavicle. Meanwhile, the skirt is too tight and rides up. Could be a perfect summer sundress on a different body type (somebody busty/ broad shouldered/ not too tall).
Sizing: Larger than Expected

cute, but...
Pros: - 40s retro foxy & flattering - unique sllhouette, not every 2nd girl on the street gonna look like you - the first non-athletic shorts I've tried on in years that I would actually wear Cons - uniqueness includes a dollop of boop oop-a-doop; wasn't sure i was prepared to pull that off - at least, not in this fabric. Would be more willing to take the risk in something other than lightweight white silk.

Classic
I didn't find the fit odd, and I've got all the trouble spots where it would show. My calves are on the muscular side, but these pants skimmed comfortably over them, no problem. Even better, the inseam in size 4 hit perfectly just above ankle (I'm 5'5", 125lb) for that office-friendly Audrey Hepburn vibe that I want (too many Beach Blanket Bingo capris out there). I did find these pants more straight-legged than on the model in the photo. While I'm not even averagely curvaceous, the fit from the knee up was rather tight. Not overly so, but with the slight sheen to the fabric, I'm leery that they may be a bit too sexy for some occasions. Sizing up though, I'm afraid they'd be dowdy...will keep the 4 and pair these with lower heels and modest tops.

Can't stop staring at my feet!
I just lost a long and detailed review into the black hole of timed-out pages, but love the booties so much that I'm giving it another try. Color "iron" is the perfect neutral, matches everything. Quality is solid, my first Ash purchase--I'm impressed. Surprisingly comfortable. Granted, my bar was low; I usually wear platforms or flats, and expect to suffer when I shift to pointy booties that push all your body weight onto the ball of your foot. But these were better than "tolerable," I can wear them for an afternoon of errands or a night on the town without noticeable discomfort. I found them true to European sizing: I'm 9-9.5, wide toebox, my usual 40 was perfect. One more word on fit: I usually shy away from ankle boots, since genetics have "blessed" me with muscular rather than model-slender legs. But these booties hit flatteringly low on the ankle and make my legs look HOT.

pocket issues
at 5'5", the leg pockets hit right at the crease of my knee - a very awkward spot. problem may have been that i usually wear 27 in hudson but 28 was the smallest available. sizing down perhaps could have avoided the issue? otherwise fit is great, standard flattering hudson proportions.

PEPLUMS!!!
I love peplums. Whether or not they're in style at any particular given moment. The first time I showed him, my husband asked, "where are you going to wear that?" Um, I wear this hoodie everywhere. And he totally digs it. For me, a peplum is a chance to add more ruffles to my life; for guys, I think it's more like an enticing window on an advent calendar.

wish it were me
even after reading the reviews, i was convinced i could make this work. i WANT my dresses to be poofy. after i tried it on, though, (in size 4) i understood...it's BIG. that's for good reason, it's big because it's fabulously detailed and beautifully made: the bodice is fully boned, there's a bit of netting under the skirt, the fabrics are top notch. the workmanship is worth way more than $200 - especially when you see simple jersey tunic dresses running twice that. but i just felt lost in the dress. it felt too "special occasion." i'm half considering going back for the 2, but am afraid with the boning it would be too tight for my ribcage. on somebody a bit taller, say 5'7", this would be dreamy. 3 stars for limited wearability, definitely not because it is in any way "average."
